2016 JULY 25

This was my first attempt at shower shots and I think it turned out fine. I experimented with different shutter speed to catch the water in their different shapes. I got the model to try poses that would make interesting presentations and he did a great job.

This is my favourite shot of the session. It shows his best form - a beefy, broad, strong back with the gentle placement of the left hand on the buttock. I like how the water dances off the left, upper shoulder. One can also see the 'rivers' running down the left back.  The highlight is strongest in the upper left portion of the photo. This is a pose i like using.

Dance is the word. The torso dances and the water dances. The body becomes a stage and the water does it's choreography in its different forms on different parts of the body. It took a bit of experimenting to get the effect. I like the sense of joy in the pose.

I enjoy doing most of my shots with the f1.2 aperture. However, it does give me the task of deciding where to focus for each shot and the artisitc decision can be difficult. Sometimes, I just end up with the same shots with different focus points. Choosing the one shot among the lot is another time consuming task. In this photo, the focus is on the back of the neck. It gives the feeling of being up-close to the model's neck and watching the water churning in the middle of the back like how water churns in a river after a rain storm.
